Woodblock Printmaking Workshop – Friday September 16, 2016 – Afternoon

These workshops are designed for participants that have some experience with relief print-making (lino or wood). Participants will have the opportunity to carve their own designs on locally salvaged yellow cedar wood blocks (5×8) using high quality woodcutting tools. They will use these to create a small run of prints using the artist’s custom made 24″ intaglio press with archival paper and inks. Space for 10 participants. Hosted by Dan Law. About Dan Law

Dan Law MA, DipVisArt, RN, is a professional artist and business owner in Tofino BC. In 2013 Dan received the Regent College graduate prize for excellence in the arts for his sculpture/ installations dealing with the intersection of theology, art, and work. Dan has been teaching fine art and running art, photography, carving, traditional arts, and numerous puppet and theatre workshops for youth since 1995. Dan and his wife Mollie have received several Vancouver community grants for community printmaking workshops and collaborative printmaking projects. Dan also teaches traditional bow and arrow making seminars for Lee Valley Tools.
